Lara recently completed photography for the Seattle Wallpaper* City Guide book, due out from Phaidon this Fall and available online and in select design & museum book shops.
Lara shot the cover feature for EcoHome Magazine’s Sept/Oct issue - Fellowship May ‘11
- A 2010 joint fellowship with the Northwest Institute of Architecture & Urban Studies in Italy (NIAUSI) culminated late fall, and large scale mappings of the documentation are currently in the works. Public presentations will be made 05.11 and a gallery installation at Jack Straw Productions is scheduled for early 2012.

- The home/office building of LARA SWIMMER PHOTOGRAPHY & zimmerraystudios was selected as the Seattle AIA’s House of the Month, and will appear in Record Houses issue of Architectural Record in a feature on architects’ own homes.
- Paris Exhibit Mar ‘11
- A 5-image panorama of Lara’s Olympic Sculpture Park photography (Weiss/Manfredi Arch) will be included in the exhibit, La Ville Fertile, at the Cite d’Architecture et Patrimoine.

- Recent work can be seen in Metropolis Magazine’s Smart Environments Awards issue, 02.11, in conjunction with the IIDA (Roseville Library), Bloomberg News & Business Week online (Urban Outfitters Free People), Time.com (Cargotecture c320 project), and Northwest HOME Magazine’s, 03.11) AIA House of the Month (Admiral Live / Work Bldg), and later this Spring in GreenSource, 05.11, and Architectural Record,05.11.
- AIA Conventions: 2009, 2010 May ‘10
- Lara was selected by the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) to display work with 25 other architecture shooters at the AIA Conventions in both SF and Miami, in a gallery space sponsored by Canon and Calumet.
- Commission Jun ‘08
- Along with her partner Robert Zimmer, Lara was commissioned by the UI’s Prichard Art Gallery in Moscow to create a joint artwork and site specific installation, the “Palouse Project,” a two-year culmination of that collaboration. “Topographies in Built and Natural Landscapes” ran June - Sept 08.
- Artist Grant May ‘08
- Lara was the recipient of a 2008 City Artist Grant by the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs for her work on the Palouse Project (first published in Metropolis, 05.2008)
- NY Exhibit Jun ‘06
- Metropolis Magazine’s 25 anniversary issue was celebrated in New York with a photo exhibit at the Art Director’s Club in Chelsea, “The Metropolis View: 25 Years Through the Lens,” in which Lara was one of 25 photographers, and one of twelve featured in the issue.

- Lara was selected to become an Honorary Member of the Seattle American Institute of Architects (AIA).
